Index plungers provide manual control of indexing and positive locking in an application, via their sprung loaded control knobs, for many of our models we provide versions which allow the knob (and hence index) to be fully locked out giving the user full control.

Index Plungers

Precision Index Plungers

Ideal indexing mechanisms for high tolerance applications, aligning pallets or components etc. Precise finish of both pin and matching bush guarantees high repetition accuracy upto tol. n6. Tapered model accomodates mis-alignment of parts.

Cam Action Index Plungers

M12 to M20 in free cutting steel and AISI303 stainless. The cam action index plunger is ideal for easy actuation - simple push or turn lever by 180 degrees to retract pin, a notch at the end of the stroke locks lever in place.

Ring Pull Index Plunger, Simple Finish

For less precise applications at an economic price. Index plunger is actuated by pulling the ring pull back to retract pin, let go of the ring pull and pin returns. Model has smaller body dimensions and is suited to applications with restricted space.

Simple Finish Index Plunger

An economic modell offering both locking and non-locking versions. Pull out handle and turn 90 degrees to lock the pin in retracted position, turn a further 90 degrees to release. Model has smaller body dimensions and is suited to applications with restricted space.

Short and Mini Index Plungers

Particularly suited for use in thin walled parts/assemblies - such as electrical enclosures, or sheet metal. Easily mounted through a short thread, M8 to M10, with compact length of only 21 mm. Locking and non-locking models available.

Compact Index Plunger

Stainless (AISI 303) and free cutting steel models provide robust indexing and locking. More compact in length than our standard index plunger, via integrating the locking mechanism underneath the pull knob head. Available in thread sizes M8 to M16.

Standard Index Plungers

AISI303 and free cutting steel models, provides robust indexing and locking. Our standard index plunger has a longer body with exposed locking notch for easy visibility to identify whether locked or unlocked. Available in thread sizes M8 to M16.

Weldable Index Plungers

Especially suited to sheet metal applications, this model has a plain body of free cutting steel which easily takes to weld. Model available both with and without grip - allowing attachment of own grip in metal or other, to suit application.

Flanged Index Plungers

Small and compact in design, these flanged index plungers are for use on thin walled parts. Both locking and non-locking models are available. See also part 3277 for thin walled model with concealed fixing from the rear (no visible mounting flange).
